Dr. Mahfuz Yonis
Dr. Yonis grew up in Ethiopia where he attended medical school and graduated with honors from Gondar College of Medical Sciences in 2000. He completed his Internal Medicine residency from Howard University Hospital in Washington, DC. After completing residency, he subsequently trained in Nephrology fellowship at University at Buffalo and completed training in 2018. Following his followship, Dr. Yonis worked as faculty at University at Buffalo where he gained extensive experience in treating patients with wide range of kidney diseases. His areas of interest and expertise include resistant hypertension, electrolyte disorders and chronic kidney disease. He is committed to treating patients with a high standard of care in a compassionate manner. He is available to see patients at our Camp Creek and Atlanta offices. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and reading books.
